Thisbillreinstatesthepresidentialpreferenceprimaryelection,
tobeheldstatewideonthefirstTuesdayafterthefirstMondayin
Aprilofeachpresidentialelectionyear.
Anyonewhofilesarequesttobeincludedonthepresidential
primaryballotisnotprohibitedfromfilingorappearingonany
ballotasapartycandidatefornominationtoanotheroffice.
Thebillspecifiesthatonorbeforethe10thTuesdaypriortothe
dateofthepresidentialpreferenceprimary,theSecretaryofState
shallannouncetheofficiallistofpresidentialcandidatesfor
eachestablishedpoliticalparty.
Allcostsofapresidentialpreferenceprimaryshallbepaidbythe
state,exceptthat,costsshallbesharedproportionately bythe
stateandanypoliticalsubdivisionsandspecialdistrictsholding
anelectiononthesamedayasanysuchprimary. Foranycounty
withmorethan500pollingplaces,thestateshallassistin
assuringadequatepollworkersandequipment.

Thisbillmovestheclosingfilingdateforanyofficeina
politicalsubdivisionfromthe17thTuesdaypriortotheelection
tothe16thTuesdaypriortotheelection,andprovidesthatifthe
closingdateforfilingadeclarationofcandidacyfallsonastate
orfederalholiday,thefilingdeadlineshallbeextendedto5:00
pmonthenextdaythatisnotastateorfederalholiday.
Thebillspecifiesthatgovernmententitiesdonothavetoregister
withtheSecretaryofStateinordertosolicitvoterregistration
applications.
Thisbillspecifiesthatlistsofapplicationsandinformation
requiredforestablishingtheabsenteevotingprocessforpersons
withpermanentdisabilitiesshallnotbepostedordisplayedinany
areaopentothegeneralpublicnorconsideredapublicrecord
undertheprovisionsofChapter610,RSMo. ThebilladdsdocumentsissuedbytheUnitedStatesorthestateof
Missouriinasecure,digitalformattothelistofidentification
requiredtovote.
Thisbilladdsthreateningtoharmorengaginginconduct
reasonablycalculatedtoharassoralarmanelectionofficial,
attemptingtoinduce,influence,deceive,orpressureanelection
officialtoviolateanelectionlaw,ordisseminatingpersonal
informationaboutanelectionofficialortheirfamilytothelist
ofclassthreeelectionoffenses. Circulatinganinitiativeor
referendumpetitionhasalsobeenaddedtothelistofprohibited
activities.
