569.175.1.Apersoncommitstheoffenseofunlawfullygainingentryintomotor
2vehiclesifthepersonliftsthedoorhandlesorotherwisetriesthedoorsandlocksof
3successivemotorvehiclestogainentryintothemotorvehiclesunlessthepersonisthe
4ownerofthemotorvehiclesorhastheowners'permissiontoenterthemotorvehicles.
5Forpurposesofthissection,"successive"meansliftingthedoorhandlesorotherwise
6tryingthedoorsandlocksofonevehicleafteranother.
7 2.TheoffenseofunlawfullygainingentryintomotorvehiclesisaclassA
8misdemeanorforafirstoffenseandaclassEfelony:
9 (1)Foranysecondorsubsequentoffense;or
10 (2)Ifthepersonisapriorfelonyoffender.
