FIRST REGULAR SESSION SENATE BILL NO. 600 103RD GENERAL ASSEMBLY INTRODUCED BY SENATOR SCHNELTING. 2302S.01I KRISTINA MARTIN, Secretary AN ACT To repeal section 70.385, RSMo, relating to appointment of commissioners to the bi-state development agency. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: Section A. Section 70.385, RSMo, is repealed, to read as 1 follows:2 [70.385. 1. Two of the five appointments 1 made by the governor pursuant to the provisions 2 of section 70.380 shall be selected from a panel 3 of three nominees submitted by the mayor of St. 4 Louis City. Two of the five appointments made 5 by the governor pursuant to the provisions of 6 section 70.380 shall be selected from a panel of 7 three nominees submitted by the county executive 8 of St. Louis County. 9 2. The fifth appointment made by the 10 governor pursuant to section 70.380 shall be 11 selected from a panel of three nominees 12 submitted alternately by the mayor of St. Louis 13 City and the county executive of St. Louis 14 County. The next appointment following August 15 28, 1997, shall be to fill the commissioner 16 position described in this subsection and shall 17 be made from three nominees submitted by the 18 county executive of St. Louis County. The next 19 appointment for the commissioner position 20 described in this subsection shall be made from 21 three nominees submitted by the mayor of St. 22 Louis City whereupon the order of nomination and 23 appointment for this position will repeat itself. 24 SB 600 2 3. The order of the appointments made 25 pursuant to subsection 1 of this section shall 26 be as follows: 27 (1) One from the panel of nominees 28 submitted by the mayor of St. Louis city; 29 (2) One from the panel of nominees 30 submitted by the county executive of St. Louis 31 County whereupon the order of such appointments 32 shall repeat itself. 33 4. Whenever the mayor or the county 34 executive submits a panel of three nominees, 35 they shall adhere to the intent set forth in the 36 provisions of subsection 2 of section 213.020. ] 37
