1514 AN ACT DESIGNATING THE FREEDOM FLAG AS A SYMBOL OF THE STATE 'S 2
1615 CONTINUED REMEMBRANCE OF THE LIVES LOST DUE TO THE TERRORIST 3
1716 ATTACKS ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001, AND AUTHORIZING THE FREEDOM FLAG 4
1817 TO BE DISPLAYED ON SEPTEMBER 11 OF EACH YEAR. 5
1918 The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 6
2019 SECTION 1. Chapter 145 of the General Statutes is amended by adding a new 7
2120 section to read: 8
2221 "ยง 145-32.1. 9/11 remembrance; Freedom Flag. 9
2322 The Freedom Flag created by the Freedom Flag Foundation is designated as a symbol of the 10
2423 State's continued remembrance of American lives lost as a result of the terrorist attacks in the 11
2524 United States on September 11, 2001. The Freedom Flag may be flown with the flags of the 12
2625 United States and of the State of North Carolina on public buildings and institutions and at county 13
2726 courthouses across the State on September 11 of each year. Any named public office or public 14
2827 official may accept a donation of one or more Freedom Flags to be displayed as provided in this 15
2928 section." 16
3029 SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law. 17
