The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
The intent of LB434 is to update fees charged by the State Fire Marshal. The bill updates
fees across multiple areas including: display permit fees for public exhibition of fireworks;
license fees for distributors, jobbers, and retailers of fireworks; certification fees for fire
alarm inspectors; fees for reviewing plans, blueprints, and shop drawings; certificate fees
for water-based fire protection system contractors and renewals; registration fees for farm or
residential tanks and tanks used for storing heating oil; and permit and registration fees for
underground storage tanks.
