Summary of purpose and/or changes:
This bill proposes changes to eight sections of statute relating to the fees charged by the State Fire Marshal.
Section 1 would change the fee for fireworks display permits from ten dollars to one hundred dollars.
Section 2 proposes changes to fees relating to fireworks industry licenses. The fee for distributors would go from five
hundred to one thousand dollars. The fee for jobbers would go from two hundred to four hundred dollars. The fee for
retailers would go from twenty-five to one hundred dollars.

Page 1 868f1e1c52711ea5aa3d0f47a36c0393 Section 3 would change the examination fee for fire alarm test and inspection service providers from no more that one
hundred dollars to no more than two hundred dollars.
Section 4 would change the late submittal penalty for plans relating to a fire code inspections of remodeling or
construction projects from fifty dollars to “an amount equal to fifty percent of the total projected cost of such remodel
or construction.”
Section 5 proposes changes to certain other State Fire Marshal fees. Fees for inspection for fire safety of any
premises or facility would go from a range of twenty-five to one hundred fifty dollars to a range of fifty to three hundred
dollars. This section also directs the State Fire Marshal to promulgate rules and regulations adjusting other fees
charged by that agency, to be made effective on July 1, 2026. This section would also change the maximum fee for
plan examination relating to accessibility standards from two hundred fifty dollars to five thousand dollars.
Section 6 would increase the fee for a water-based fire protection system contractor certificate from one hundred to
two hundred dollars.
Section 7 would increase the heating oil tank registration fee from five dollars to ten dollars.
Section 8 would increase the fees for storage tank installation and annual registration. The installation fee would be
increased from fifty dollars to seventy-five dollars. The annual registration fee would be increased from thirty dollars to
sixty dollars.
Section 9 contains the repealer.
 
 
Explanation of amendments:
AM 750 revises language relating to a late submission fee and changes the effective date of proposed plan review fee
changes.
