The following constitutes the reasons for this bill and the purposes which are sought to be
accomplished thereby:
LB 526 imposes a 2.5-cent per kWh excise tax on cryptocurrency mining operations
consuming over 1,000 kWh annually and allows public power districts to require financial
assurances from these operations.€
