Requires the office for people with developmental disabilities to produce and publish a report to assess the staffing and other issues causing the continued displacement of individuals with developmental disabilities from various state-operated institutions under the jurisdiction of the office for people with developmental disabilities.
Requires public institutions and buildings to be equipped with opioid antagonists; directs the commissioner of general services to promulgate regulations to address the appropriate number of opioid antagonists for such buildings based on the size or occupancy of the buildings, the training of personnel and use of opioid antagonists, and any other matter deemed necessary.
Relates to the filling of borrow pits in Jamaica Bay; directs the department of environmental conservation to conduct a study on ecological restoration needs in Jamaica Bay.
Enacts the residential structure fire prevention act; provides a tax credit to homeowners who remove cock loft fire hazards in their homes; provides an insurance discount for the installation of smoke detecting alarm devices in cock lofts; provides that the repair of cock lofts for the purpose of fire prevention and safety shall be qualifying expenditures under state housing programs.
Authorizes the assessor of the town of Islip, county of Suffolk, to accept an application for exemption from real property taxes from the East Islip Fire District with respect to a portion of the 2021-2022 assessment roll and the entire 2022-2023 assessment roll.
Relates to paratransit services; directs that an applicant for recertification submit correspondence from a licensed physician in lieu of an in-person assessment.
Relates to the role of the department of corrections and community supervision in planning and facilitating the discharge or release of incarcerated individuals to the community.
Establishes a returning veterans tax credit for businesses that hire veterans and disabled veterans; provides that such tax credit is worth $3,000 per veteran hired or $4,000 for every disabled veteran hired and the total benefit shall not exceed $15,000 annually.
Directs the commissioner of health, in consultation with the office of mental health and other relevant stakeholders, to develop guidance and standards for routine maternal depression screenings, referrals, diagnosis and treatment, and to provide training and materials on issues related to maternal depression.
