Relates to fines for false alarms by an alarm system; allows a municipality to enact, adopt or enforce any ordinance, resolution or regulation requiring any alarm system company to pay for or be responsible for any fines, fees or other penalties relative to false alarms only when the false alarm is attributed to a deficiency in the alarm system or an error of the alarm system company or central station.
Prohibits the sale of lithium-ion batteries used in micromobility devices, bicycles with electric assist or limited use motorcycles unless such batteries are manufactured in accordance with certain standards and specifications; provides a civil penalty; authorizes district attorneys, county attorneys, and corporation counsel to have concurrent authority to seek the relief.
Prohibits the sale of high purity sodium nitrite to persons under the age of 21 and without proof of the intended use for institutional or scientific purposes.
Prohibits the sale of electric assisted bicycles unless the packaging contains a notice stating that the operation of such electric assisted bicycle on any public highway, road or sidewalk may be unlawful.
Implements a moratorium on the installation of new digital billboards; directs the commissioner of transportation to conduct a study on the impact of digital billboards on motor vehicle accidents.
Provides that it is a deceptive act in the conduct of any business, trade or commerce to threaten civil litigation, where such threat relates to an alleged violation of intellectual property rights unless the person so threatened makes a payment of money.
Requires lithium batteries of less than 1 inch in diameter and products containing such batteries to be labeled with warnings that swallowing such batteries has been known to cause death.
Requires sellers to clearly post the credit card price inclusive of any surcharge at the location a sale occurs; does not prohibit merchants from offering a two-tier pricing system; establishes civil penalty not to exceed $500 for each violation.
Prohibits the installation of certain security devices used to control access to common areas of a residential building without the written permission of the owners, board of managers, board of directors, or authorized party of such property.
Enacts the "9/11 notice act"; provides for notice to past and present employees of eligibility for the September eleventh victim compensation fund and the World Trade Center health program.
