Relates to the disposition of campaign funds raised by an elected official who has been convicted of a crime committed while in public office or has been impeached and has been convicted, or has resigned public office following findings by either the attorney general or a committee of the legislature that the official has violated the law.
Prohibits the advertisement of firearms as combat weapons; exempts the advertisement of such rifles, shotguns, or firearms for the purposes of recreation, hunting, self-defense or other legal uses of such firearms.
Authorizes, under certain circumstances, full-time college and university students to act as election inspectors and poll clerks in the election district where their college or university is located.
Authorizes health insurers and health maintenance organizations, subject to the approval of the superintendent of financial services, to provide actuarially appropriate reductions in health insurance premiums or other benefits or enhancements for an enrollee's or insured's participation in a qualified wellness program.
Establishes a personal income tax deduction for the interest paid on student loans by individual taxpayers having a federal adjusted income of between $65,000 and $125,000, and married taxpayers filing jointly having a federal adjusted income of between $130,000 and $250,000.
Requires a verification organization to declare each service or item to be verified or unverified within thirty days of receiving all required supporting documentation from a participating provider.
Establishes a state director of drug policy to lead the state drug control effort, including coordinating with the state agencies that impact drug policy and associated funding; coordinate and oversee the implementation of state drug policy; assess the adequacy of the state drug control programs and the budgets for those programs; evaluate the effectiveness of state drug control policy efforts; identify and respond to emerging drug threats related to illicit drug use; facilitate broad-scale information sharing and data standardization among state and local entities to support the state drug control efforts; assist the governor in the establishment of policies, goals, objectives, and priorities for drug policy; consult with and assist local governments with respect to the formulation and implementation of drug control policy; and serve as an ex-officio member of the opioid settlement board.
Establishes the "New York state transparency in supply chains act" which requires businesses to fully disclose efforts being taken to eliminate human trafficking within the supply chain process and provide those disclosures to consumers.
Directs the office for the prevention of domestic violence to facilitate the establishment of five crime victim and trauma survivor recovery centers throughout the state to help individuals who have experienced violent crime, including individuals who suffered gunshot wounds, as well as victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking, and hate crimes, and those who had a family member assaulted or killed, free of charge.
