Requires that local governments comply with a detainer request issued by a federal law enforcement agency; requires that such local government not interfere with the ability of federal law enforcement officials to conduct enforcement activities at municipal or county jails in furtherance of their duty to enforce federal laws.
Relates to warning labels on cannabis products; includes advertising, deceptively advertising, branding, marketing, packaging, displaying, labelling, offering for ingestion outside of packaging, or administering cannabis products in contravention of a certain section of the cannabis law or rules and regulations in the criminal sale of cannabis in the first degree.
Provides a resident taxpayer an additional personal income tax exemption for each dependent who is 65 years of age or older and who is residing with the taxpayer; requires the office for the aging to biennially report to the governor and legislature concerning the effects of such additional tax exemption on programs offered under the auspices or with the support, direct or indirect, of the office for the aging.
Establishes a tax credit for full-time nurses and a tax credit for teaching nurses; provides that the amount of such credit shall be five hundred dollars.
Prohibits the sale of covered license plate frames; defines a covered license plate frame to mean any glass or plastic material, artificial or synthetic material or substance that conceals or obscures a license plate or that distorts a recorded or photographic image of such license plate.
Directs the metropolitan transportation authority to study and report on potentially hazardous structures and storage areas under elevated train tracks, and its commuter notification system.
Requires any proposed increase in fares by the metropolitan commuter transportation authority shall be submitted to the comptroller for approval before such fare increase takes effect; requires the metropolitan commuter transportation authority to submit a report to the comptroller which includes a justification for such proposed fare increase and the current financial condition of such authority.
Requires the workers' compensation board to submit a supplemental report every year, including recommendations to modernize such board and certain data regarding claims made and decisions rendered on such claims.
Enacts the "construction insurance transparency act" to require insurers providing coverage for liability under the scaffold law to report, on an annual basis, to the superintendent of financial services relating to its finances and claims paid thereunder.
Requires all dwellings in projects located within the state to include braille labeling on all room numbers, elevator buttons, and directional signage in common areas in such dwellings.
Requires background checks for a person prior to employment in a position involving substantial contact with children while dressed as a children's character; provides certain penalties for violations.
Provides that no suspension of a registration shall occur for a violation regarding cashless tolls absent clear evidence of an owner's intent to repeatedly evade paying such tolls.
Relates to orders of protection with respect to companion animals; provides further protection for pets by authorizing the court to order a party to either relinquish a pet or to refrain from any contact with a pet.
