Establishes protections for adults sixty years of age or older, or at least the age of eighteen and who, because of mental or physical impairments, are unable to manage their own resources or protect themselves from financial exploitation without assistance from others.
Requires utility corporations and municipalities to ensure that bills for service to residential customers include a line item for cost impact measures taken in accordance with the climate action council's final scoping plan; requires the department of public service to establish a formula to enable utility corporations and municipalities to calculate the cost impact on each residential customer's bill attributed to measures taken in accordance with the climate action council's final scoping plan.
Requires the chief administrator of the courts and the office of information technology services to develop a portal for the exchange of discovery in criminal cases.
Provides for a sales and use tax exemption for items necessary for the care and safety of an infant or small child, including, but not limited to strollers, car seats, infant and toddler mattresses, and cribs and to allowing the city of New York to opt out of such tax exemption as applied to local taxes by passing a resolution.
Enacts the safe housing transfer for domestic violence victims act; ensuring safe housing transfers for domestic violence victims in private and public housing.
Enacts the "in-route safety inspection for motor coach vehicles act"; establishes a framework for mandatory in-route inspections for motor coach vehicles carrying 16 or more passengers to reduce the risk of accidents and enhance operational oversight.
Directs the commissioner of education to make recommendations to the board of regents regarding the incorporation of instruction in artificial intelligence system literacy into the school curriculum at the elementary, junior high and senior high levels; directs the board of regents to adopt guidelines if the curriculum is adopted.
