Relates to the determination of salary base for members of the New York city police pension fund; provides that the salary base for members of the New York city police pension fund whose employment with the police department of the city of New York commenced on or after July 1, 2000 shall be determined in the same manner as members whose employment commenced prior to such date.
Grants retroactive membership with Tier IV status in the New York state and local employees' retirement system to Brian Landers, for his employment with the village of Lindenhurst which commenced June 19, 2006.
Provides a heart disease presumption for members employed as a probation officer, supervising probation officer or probation officer trainee of a department of probation in a city with a population of one million or more.
Prohibits the sale of birds at retail pet shops; provides exceptions for certain domesticated game birds and other birds including chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl, peafowl and pigeons.
Provides that the future siting and construction of battery energy storage systems and related facilities, systems, infrastructure, and substations of any scale and possessing any storage capacity, and including, but not limited to, those deploying lithium-ion batteries, are prohibited on Long Island, in the counties of Suffolk and Nassau.
Clarifies provisions regarding the use of crossbows for hunting, allowing the department of environmental conservation to allow the use of crossbows for the taking of big game in any area long bows are permitted.
Requires disciplinary hearings for incarcerated individuals to be recorded with both audio and visual components; requires such recordings to be preserved; directs the commissioner of the department of corrections and community supervision to promulgate rules and regulations for who can access such recordings and when such recordings can be accessed.
Authorizes the assessor of the town of Brookhaven, county of Suffolk, to accept an application for a real property tax exemption from Ministerios Sion, Inc. for all of the 2024 general taxes and all of the 2024 school taxes.
Authorizes the assessor of the town of Brookhaven to accept an application for a real property tax exemption from St. Mary AME Zion Church for the property located at 537 Granny Road in the Hamlet of Medford.
Enacts the "faithless servant reform act", creating a rebuttable presumption of retaliation or discrimination for certain actions of an employer; provides that the employer maintains the burden of proof in certain actions against an employee; limits an employer's remedy of forfeiture against an employee's compensation.
