Enacts the "Nassau county auxiliary police tax exemption act"; provides volunteer auxiliary police officers residing in Nassau county with a real property tax exemption of up to ten percent.
Permits the suspension of a license or driving privilege for failure to answer a summons for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs; prohibits the reduction or waiving of fines or mandatory surcharges imposed for a violation of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Establishes a recycling program for containers of adult-use cannabis sold in New York; requires such containers to be made of at least fifty percent recycled materials.
Provides that no advertisement by or on behalf of a mobile sports wagering licensee shall be publicly disseminated during the broadcast of any live sporting event.
Prohibits licensees from placing a storefront within five hundred feet of certain areas including child day care centers, or public parks and playgrounds.
Prohibits mobile sports wagering operators and mobile sports wagering platforms from allowing more than five deposits from an authorized sports bettor in a twenty-four hour period.
Amends elements of the felony murder rule to require that defendant directly causes death or be an accomplice with the intent to cause death; permits vacating conviction or resentencing of defendants convicted of felony murder; amends maximum sentence; permits the defense of duress for victims of domestic violence; requires reporting of certain crime statistics and information.
Requires just cause for employment termination and restricts the use of electronic monitoring for disciplinary purposes; requires employers to provide just cause for discharging employees, with exceptions.
Establishes the offense of aggravated reckless endangerment; includes aggravated reckless endangerment as a qualified offense the court must consider and take into account for securing an order.
Relates to advancing grid enhancement technologies; allows the department of public service to approve requests from distribution companies to develop grid enhancement technologies; requires distribution companies to submit a compliance filing report every 5 years.
Establishes a legislative commission on article V conventions of the states to represent the state of New York at article V conventions; provides penalties for commissioners who exceed their scope of authority and individuals who interfere with the duties of a commissioner.
