 Senate Resolution No. 227 BY: Senator HARCKHAM MOURNING the death of Marie A. Paprocki, devoted mother, distinguished citizen, and dedicated member of her community WHEREAS, There are certain outstanding members of our community who, through their selfless commitment and dedication, have served to better the quality of life in our community and have had a measurable positive impact on the lives of its residents; Marie A. Paprocki was one such individual; and WHEREAS, It is with profound sorrow and deep regret that this Legislative Body records the passing of Marie A. Paprocki, noting the significance of her purposeful life and accomplishments; and WHEREAS, Marie A. Paprocki of Mahopac, New York, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at the age of 68; and WHEREAS, Born on May 4, 1956, in Yonkers, New York, Marie A. Paprocki was the daughter of Francis and Emily (Travers) Lavelle; and WHEREAS, Marie A. Paprocki graduated from Yonkers High School of Commerce and later became a resident of Mahopac in 1993, where she worked as the Clerk for the Town Justice of the Town of Carmel, New York; and WHEREAS, Marie enjoyed a deep love of music and attending concerts, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends, with whom she created countless memories throughout her life; and WHEREAS, Marie A. Paprocki is survived by her two sons, Luke and Andrew of Mahopac; her brother, Paul Lavelle of Brewster, New York; her sisters, Barbara Dziadek of Wilmington, North Carolina, Patricia Caloia of Yonkers, New York, and Kathy Palacio of St. Augustine, Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews, all of whom were blessed to know and love her; and WHEREAS, She was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Emily Lavelle; her brother, Denis Lavelle; and her former husband, Richard Paprocki; and WHEREAS, A lover of animals, Marie A. Paprocki greatly missed her canine companion, Duke, who recently passed; she is survived by her beloved pet parrot, Pegg; and WHEREAS, Marie A. Paprocki's infinite selflessness and benevolence will shine on through her family's vivid and happy memories; her insight and strength will forever serve as a beacon of love, light and hope to the countless lives she touched; and WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of compassion, Marie A. Paprocki leaves behind a legacy which will long endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all who were privileged to have known and loved such an amazing woman; she will be deeply missed and truly merits the grateful tribute of this Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to mourn the death of Marie A. Paprocki, and to express its deepest condolences to her family; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to the family of Marie A. Paprocki.
