 Senate Resolution No. 354 BY: Senator PARKER HONORING Stacey D. Stewart upon the occasion of her recognition at The Positive Community Media's 6th Annual Great American Emancipation Day Awards Celebration on February 22, 2025 WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and commend extraordinary individuals whose leadership and advocacy have significantly impacted communities across the Nation; and WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Stacey D. Stewart, CEO of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, upon the occasion of her recognition at The Positive Community Media's 6th Annual Great American Emancipation Day Awards Celebration on Saturday, February 22, 2025; and WHEREAS, A visionary leader and passionate advocate, Stacey D. Stewart has dedicated her career to advancing social change, public safety, and health equity, ensuring that communities are protected from the devastating consequences of impaired driving; and WHEREAS, As CEO of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), Stacey D. Stewart has been at the forefront of policy advocacy, victim support, and public awareness campaigns, working tirelessly to eliminate drunk and drugged driving and to support victims and survivors; and WHEREAS, Stacey D. Stewart's leadership has strengthened MADD's impact nationwide, expanding educational programs, legislative initiatives, and prevention efforts to save lives and promote responsible decisions; and WHEREAS, Stacey D. Stewart's unwavering dedication to community advocacy and public service has made a lasting impact, empowering families and communities to work toward a future free from the tragedy of impaired driving; and WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper that this Legislative Body recognize the remarkable achievements of Stacey D. Stewart and commend her for her profound contributions to public safety and advocacy; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to honor Stacey D. Stewart, CEO of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, upon the occasion of her recognition at The Positive Community Media's 6th Annual Great American Emancipation Day Awards Celebration; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Stacey D. Stewart.
