HINCHEY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation to expand- ing the definition of crops, livestock and livestock products to include cannabis; and amends a chapter of the laws of 2024 amending the agriculture and markets law relating to expanding the definition of crops, livestock and livestock products to include cannabis, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 1752 and A. 1234, in relation to the effectiveness thereof The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Paragraph m of subdivision 2 of section 301 of the agricul- 2 ture and markets law, as added by a chapter of the laws of 2024 amending 3 the agriculture and markets law relating to expanding the definition of 4 crops, livestock and livestock products to include cannabis, as proposed 5 in legislative bills numbers S. 1752 and A. 1234, is amended to read as 6 follows: 7 m. Cannabis [as defined in section three of] when cultivated in 8 accordance with the cannabis law. 9 § 2. Section 2 of a chapter of the laws of 2024 amending the agricul- 10 ture and markets law relating to expanding the definition of crops, 11 livestock and livestock products to include cannabis, as proposed in 12 legislative bills numbers S. 1752 and A. 1234, is amended to read as 13 follows: 14 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed to 15 have been in full force and effect on and after January 1, 2024. 16 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately; provided, however, that 17 section one of this act shall take effect on the same date and in the 18 same manner as a chapter of the laws of 2024 amending the agriculture 19 and markets law relating to expanding the definition of crops, livestock 20 and livestock products to include cannabis, as proposed in legislative 21 bills numbers S. 1752 and A. 1234, takes effect.
