MURRAY, PALUMBO, WEIK -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Corpo- rations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to requiring public utility authorities to obtain legislative approval before rais- ing rates or fees The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The public authorities law is amended by adding a new 2 section 2859 to read as follows: 3 § 2859. Rates and fees; public utility authorities. No public utility 4 authority operating under article five of this chapter shall raise any 5 rates or fees, or impose any new rates or fees, for the use of utilities 6 provided by such public utility authority, without first obtaining 7 approval from the state legislature. 8 § 2.
