ORTT -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation -- commit- tee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recom- mitted to said committee AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to dedicating a portion of the state highway system to "Specialist Jason Johnston" <B><U>The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-</U></B> <B><U>bly, do enact as follows:</U></B> 1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-r to 2 read as follows: 3 <B><U>&#167; 344-r. Portion of the state highway system to be dedicated to</U></B> 4 <B><U>"Specialist Jason Johnston". All that portion of the state highway</U></B> 5 <B><U>system constituting route thirty-one-A between Powerline Road and route</U></B> 6 <B><U>ninety-eight in the county of Orleans, shall be dedicated to "Specialist</U></B> 7 <B><U>Jason Johnston".</U></B> 8 &#167; 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal- 9 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system 10 pursuant to section one of this act. However, to avoid confusion and to 11 limit any possible disruption of commerce, the dedication called for 12 pursuant to section one of this act shall be one of ceremonial nature 13 and the official name of such highway shall not be changed as a result 14 of this act. 15 &#167; 3.
