RHOADS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Crime Victims, Crime and Correction AN ACT to amend the correction law, in relation to registering with the sex offender registry no later than five days after any change of address <B><U>The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-</U></B> <B><U>bly, do enact as follows:</U></B> 1 Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 168-f of the correction law, as 2 amended by chapter 67 of the laws of 2008, is amended to read as 3 follows: 4 4. Any sex offender shall register with the division no later than 5 [<B><S>ten</S></B>] <B><U>five</U></B> calendar days after any change of address, internet accounts 6 with internet access providers belonging to such offender, internet 7 identifiers that such offender uses, or [<B><S>his or her</S></B>] <B><U>such offender's</U></B> 8 status of enrollment, attendance, employment or residence at any insti- 9 tution of higher education. A fee of ten dollars, as authorized by 10 subdivision eight of section one hundred sixty-eight-b of this article, 11 shall be submitted by the sex offender each time such offender registers 12 any change of address or any change of [<B><S>his or her</S></B>] <B><U>such offender's</U></B> 13 status of enrollment, attendance, employment or residence at any insti- 14 tution of higher education. Any failure or omission to submit the 15 required fee shall not affect the acceptance by the division of the 16 change of address or change of status. 17 &#167; 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall 18 have become a law.
