HOUSE BILL 1048 By: Kerbs and Davis
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to railroads; requiring certain
railroads to have two crewmembers in control
compartment of lead locomotive unit; making certain
exceptions; providing for codification; and providing
an effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be co dified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 104 of Title 66, unless there is
created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
A. Railroads, excluding short lines, operating within this
state shall maintain a minimum of two crewmembers in the control
compartment of the lead locomotive unit of a train.
B. Compliance with subsection A of this Section shall not be
required during switching operations, brake testing, safety
inspectors or while performing setouts in conjunction with road
service.

SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2021.
