BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKL AHOMA: SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 139.204 of Title 17, unless there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: A. The Corporation Commission with the par ticipation and advice of the Rural Broadband Expansion Council shall promulgate rules and procedures for the establishment of the State Broadband Deployment HB1124 HFLR Page 2 BOLD FACE denotes Committee Amendments. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 Grant Program. The State Broadband Deployment Grant P rogram shall include development of a competi tive grant program to award funding to applicants seeking to expand access to broadband internet service in this state. The Commission and Council shall look at best practices in other states to help facilitate the framework of the Program. B. There is hereby created in the State Treasury a revolving fund for the Corporation Commission to be designated the "State Broadband Deployment Grant Program Fund ". The fund shall be a continuing fund, not subject to fiscal year limitations, and shall consist of all monies designated for deposit to said fund. All monies accruing to the credit of said fund are hereby appropriated and may be budgeted and shall be expended by the Corpora tion Commission for the purpose of awarding grants by and through the Rural Broadband Expansion Council , pursuant to subsection A of this section, to applicants seeking expand access to broadband internet service in this state.
