An Act relating to schools; mandating counseling and
guidance services for students; setting minimu m ratio
of students to certified school counselor s; providing
for codification; and providing an effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new secti on of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1210.711 of Title 70, unless
there is created a duplication in numbering, re ads as follows:
All students attending public schoo ls in the state shall receive
counseling and guidance services from certified school counsel ors.
Each school district shall provide one certified school counselor
for not more than two hundred fifty stude nts, with no school
district having less than one c ertified school counselor who is
employed at least half -time.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 202 2.
