4755 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
4856 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 22 O.S. 2011, Section 926.1, is
4957 amended to read as follows:
5058 Section 926.1 In all cases of a verdict of conviction for any
5159 offense against any of the laws of the State of Oklahoma, the jury
5260 may, and shall, upon the request of the defendant, assess and
5361 declare the punishment in their verdict within the limitations fixed
5462 by law, and the court shall render a judgment according to such
5563 verdict, except as hereinafter provided. In addition, the jury may
5664 recommend that the senten ce be deferred or suspended, as provided by
5765 law.
58-SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2021.
