27	143		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

29	144		SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 20 O.S. 2011, Section 106.9, as
30	145		amended by Section 1, Chapter 31, O.S.L. 2019 (20 O.S. Supp. 2020,
31	146		Section 106.9), is amended to read as follows:

33	147		Section 106.9 A. Each court reporter regularly engaged by the
34	148		district court, the Workers' Compensation Cou rt of Existing Claims,
35	149		or the Corporation Commission shall be paid a salary pursuant to the
36	150		salary schedule established by the annual appropriation for the
37	151		district courts and Corporation Commission and in accordance with
38	152		the job description for the positi on to which appointed. On October
39		-	1, 2021, each court reporter shall receive a one -time stipend of One
40		-	Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($1,250.00).

42	181		B. In addition to their base salaries, official court reporters
43	182		who are certified or licensed shorthand repo rters and those acting
44	183		shorthand reporters pursuant to paragraph c of Section 106.3B of
45	184		this title shall be paid annually the sum of Four Hundred Dollars
46		-	($400.00) for each year of service to the district court, the ~~ENR. H. B. NO. 2689 Page 2~~
	185	+	($400.00) for each year of service to the district court, the
47	186		Workers' Compensation Court, the Workers ' Compensation Court of
48	187		Existing Claims and the Corporation Commission, with a maximum of
49	188		twenty (20) years of service only to be used for the purpose of
50	189		longevity, not to exceed Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000.00) per
51	190		year, payable monthly. For the purpos e of payment for longevity,
52	191		"years of service" is defined as all years served as a certified or
53	192		licensed court reporter in the district court, the Workers'
54	193		Compensation Court and the Corporation Commission after June 30,
55	194		1978. Such longevity payments shal l begin on July 1 of each year
56	195		following completion of one (1) year's service as defined herein.

58	196		C. In addition to their base salaries, official court reporters
59	197		who are certified shorthand reporters shall be paid the following:

61	198		1. The sum of One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00) per
62	199		year, payable monthly, to any official court reporter who is a
63	200		Registered Professional Reporter (RPR), as recognized by the State
64	201		Board of Examiners of Certified Shorthand Reporters. To qualify as
65	202		a RPR, an official c ourt reporter shall have a proficiency level in
66	203		reporting testimony and proceedings of a speed of not less than two
67	204		hundred twenty-five (225) words per minute in taking a question -and-

71	234		score of at least seventy percent (70%), all as determined by an
72	235		examination recognized by the Board, and shall complete thirty (30)
73	236		hours of continuing education per three -year cycle commencing at the
74	237		date of recognition;

76	238		2. The sum of One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00) per
77	239		year, payable monthly, to any official court reporter who is a
78	240		Registered Merit Reporter (RMR), as recognized by the State Board of
79	241		Examiners of Certified Shorthand Reporters. To qualify as a RMR, an
80	242		official court reporter shall have a proficiency level in reporting
81	243		testimony and proceedings of a speed of not less than two hundred
82	244		sixty (260) words per minute in taking a question -and-answer-type
83	245		dictation, two hundred forty (240) words per minute in taking a jury
84	246		charge and two hundred (200) words per minute in taking literary
85	247		material, shall pass a Written Knowledge Test with a score of at
86	248		least seventy percent (70%), all as determined by an examination
87	249		recognized by the Board, and shall complete thirty (30) hours of
88	250		continuing education per three -year cycle commencing at the date of
89	251		recognition;

91	252		3. The sum of One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1, 500.00) per
92	253		year, payable monthly, to any official court reporter who is a
93	254		Registered Diplomat Reporter (RDR), as recognized by the State Board

100	286		Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR), as recognized by the State Board
101	287		of Examiners of Certified Shorthand Reporters, and who completes
102	288		thirty (30) hours of continuing education per three -year cycle
103	289		commencing at the date of recognition; or

105	290		5. Any official court reporter who is the holder of more than
106	291		one certification shall be c ompensated in the additional amounts
107	292		specified in paragraphs 1 through 4 of this subsection for each
108	293		certification up to a maximum of Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000.00)
109	294		per year over and above the reporter's base salary, payable monthly.

111	295		D. Court reporters temporarily employed by the district court,
112	296		Workers' Compensation Court of Existing Claims, or Corporation
113	297		Commission shall be compensated by the court fund of the court which
114	298		they serve at a rate to be set by such court. In addition, court
115	299		reporters temporarily employed pursuant to this subsection who are
116	300		required by the terms of their employment to travel outside their
117	301		county of residence, shall receive reimbursement for mileage
118	302		actually and necessarily traveled to and from the place of
119	303		attendance at a rate not to exceed the rate of reimbursement
120	304		specified in the State Travel Reimbursement Act for state employees.

128	336		of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
129	337		declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
