5252 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5353 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
5454 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 5-3A.7 of Title 2, unless there
5555 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
5656 A. Subject to federal funding, e very farmers market as defined
5757 in Section 5-3A.2 of Title 2 of the Oklahoma Statutes shall register
5858 with the Food and Nutrition Service of the United States Department
5959 of Agriculture to accept Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Progr am
6060 (SNAP) benefits as payment for eligible products being sold at the
6161 farmers market.

8888 B. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry
8989 shall coordinate with the Department of Human Services to ensure
9090 compliance with the provisions of this sect ion.
9191 C. As used in this section, "eligible products" means items
9292 identified by the United States Department of Agriculture as
9393 eligible for SNAP benefits and include fruits and vegetables; meat,
9494 poultry, and fish; dairy products; breads and cereals; other foods
9595 such as snack foods and non -alcoholic beverages; and seeds and
9696 plants, which produce food for the household to eat. Items such as
9797 beer, wine, liquor, cigarettes, or tobacco; vitamins, medicines, and
9898 supplements; prepared foods fit for immediate cons umption; hot
9999 foods; and any nonfood items are not eligible products.
100100 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2021.
