	51	+	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
	52	+	SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
	53	+	in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 9-120 of Title 70, unless there
	54	+	is created a duplication in numbering, reads a s follows:
	55	+	A. Beginning in the 2022-2023 school year, a school district
	56	+	may use a portion of the transportation funds allocated to the
	57	+	school district pursuant to Section 18 -201.1 of Title 70 of the
	58	+	Oklahoma Statutes to provide transportation grants to pa rents or
	59	+	legal guardians of students who attend the school district. The
	60	+	school district shall develop and submit a plan to the State
	61	+	Department of Education for distribution of the transportation
	62	+	grants. Upon approval of the plan b y the Department, school

182	91		individuals or neighborhood carpools in transporting students to and

184	93		B. The transportation funds allocated to the school district
185	94		pursuant to Section 18-201.1 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes
186	95		shall not be reduced or otherwise penalized if the school district
187	96		awards transportation grants authorized in this section.
188	97		C. The State Department of Education shall promulgate rules for
189	98		the transportation grants and develop procedures to account for
190	99		expenditures as provided by this section, including requiring proof
191	100		of attendance for stude nts who are transported to and from school
192	101		through transportation grant funds.
