45	56		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOP LE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
46	57		SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
47	58		in the Oklahoma Statutes as Secti on 5008.10 of Title 74, unless
48	59		there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
49	60		A. There is hereby created the Southeast Asia Trade Office.
50	61		B. The Trade Office shall be an administrative component of the
51	62		Oklahoma Department of Commerce.
52	63		C. The Trade Office shall:
53		-	1. Facilitate economic relationships between Oklahoma
54		-	businesses and business entitie s the principal business activity of
55		-	which is based in or which occurs in southeast Asia, including but
56		-	not limited to, Taiwan, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Brunei, Cambodia,
57		-	Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia;

	91	+	1. Facilitate economic relationships between Oklahoma
	92	+	businesses and business entitie s the principal business activity of
	93	+	which is based in or which occurs in southeast Asia, including but
	94	+	not limited to, Taiwan, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Brunei, Cambodia,
	95	+	Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia;
84	96		2. Promote Oklahoma business and establishing business-to-
85	97		business trading activity within the southeast Asia region;
86	98		3. Use its resources to provide information abou t business
87	99		trading opportunities in southeast Asia to Oklahoma businesses;
88	100		4. Facilitate positive relationships between the State of
89	101		Oklahoma and its political subdivisions with t he relevant
90	102		governments in the southeast Asia trading region consistent with
91	103		United States foreign policy and any applicable trade or travel
92	104		restrictions;
93	105		5. Coordinate the activities of the Oklahoma Department of
94	106		Commerce with respect to business outreach in southeast Asia;
95	107		6. Coordinate, organize, support and , within available fiscal
96	108		resources, fund travel from Oklahoma to southeast Asia and return as
97	109		part of an ongoing mission to establish and maintain positive
98	110		relationships between Oklahoma and countries in the region with the
99	111		objective of creating trade opportunities for Oklahoma bu siness
100	112		enterprises;
101	113		7. Coordinate actions taking place a t the federal level,
102	114		without interfering with the duties or responsibilities o f any
103		-	federal agency or instrumenta lity, which have as their primary
104		-	objective the promotion of business -to-business transactions between
105		-	entities in southeast Asia and the United States with emphasis on
106		-	promoting Oklahoma business activity;

	142	+	federal agency or instrumentality, which have as their primary
	143	+	objective the promotion of business -to-business transactions between
	144	+	entities in southeast Asia and the United States with emphasis on
	145	+	promoting Oklahoma business activity;
133	146		8. Conduct training programs for Oklahoma business ow ners to
134	147		inform them of potential trading opportunities with entities in
135	148		southeast Asia;
136	149		9. Produce promotional and educational materials for
137	150		distribution by business organ izations, trade associations, or
138	151		similar entities consistent with the mission of the Trade Office;
139	152		and
140	153		10. Take such other actions or deve lop such programs consistent
141	154		with the mission of developing business-to-business opportunities
142	155		between entities in southeast Asia and Oklahoma -based business
143	156		enterprises.
144	157		D. The Southeast Asia Trade Office shall maintain a physical
145	158		office in Taipei, Ta iwan.
146	159		SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2022.
147	160		SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
148	161		of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is her eby
149	162		declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and
150	163		be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
