AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to prisons and reformato ries; 
directing the Department of Corrections to provide 
minimum medical staff ing at facilities pursuant to 
health services profile s; directing the Department to 
make certain considerations when establishing 
profiles; and providing an effective date . 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 623.1 of Title 57, unless there 
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: 
The Department of Corrections shall provide minimum medical 
staffing sufficient to ensu re continuous appropriate medical care to 
all inmates at all state facilities according to the health services 
profile of each individual facility .  When establishing the health 
services profile for each facili ty, the Department shall consider: 
1.  Normal operating hours; 
2.  Special health services provided ; 
3.  Chronic clinic population ; 
4.  Contracted specialty care referral ;

5.  Medication encounters ; 
6.  Service types; 
7.  Specialty care; 
8.  Ancillary services; and 
9.  Any other special considerations that could require 
additional medical staffing. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
