HOUSE BILL 3312 By: Roe
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to animals, amending 4 O.S. 2021,
Section 42.1, which relates to dog bite liability;
providing that an owner of a dog is lia ble for
damages for dog attacking another animal; and
providing an effective date .
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 4 O.S. 2021, Section 42.1, is
amended to read as follows:
Section 42.1 The owner or owners of any dog shall be liable for
damages to the full amount of any damages sustained when his or her
dog, without provocation, bites or injures any person or animal
while such person or animal is in or on a place where he has they
have a lawful right to be.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
