56 | 56 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: |

57 | 57 | | SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 70 O.S. 2021, Section 24 -140, is |

59 | 59 | | Section 24-140. A. In an effort to provide more time for |

60 | 60 | | school administrators and principals to perform their employment |
---|
61 | 61 | | duties and meet expectations, there shall be modifica tions and |
---|
62 | 62 | | professional development opportu nities provided and funded to allow |
---|
63 | 63 | | administrators and principals to be more efficient and effective in |
---|
64 | 64 | | their roles. |

95 | 95 | | development training. All costs and fees for the three (3) days |

96 | 96 | | shall be incurred by the school district. If approved by the school |

97 | 97 | | district superintendent, o ne of the days identified in this |

98 | 98 | | paragraph may be designated for grant writing training. |

99 | 99 | | 2. Administrators and principals shall complete professional |
---|
100 | 100 | | development training required by Section 6-194 of this title |
---|
101 | 101 | | initially, and thereafter shall be exempt from the annual or |
---|
102 | 102 | | recurring professional development training requirements unless |
---|
103 | 103 | | there is a modification or addition to the requirements. |
---|
104 | 104 | | B. The State Board of Education shall study programs designed |
---|
105 | 105 | | to develop leadership skills for school district administrators and |
---|
106 | 106 | | principals which utiliz e expertise and program availability from |
---|
107 | 107 | | private industry. If funds are available, such program shall b e |
---|
108 | 108 | | adopted and implemented beginning with the 1992 -93 school year. |
---|
109 | 109 | | SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022. |
