AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to schools; authorizing school 
district to offer hunter safety elective course to 
high school students; setting minimum requirements 
for course materials and instructor; permitting State 
Board of Education to coordinate wi th the Department 
of Wildlife Conservation to promulgate rules; 
providing for codification; and providing an 
effective date. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 11-103.15 of Title 70, unless 
there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: 
A.  A school district may offer to students in gra des nine 
through twelve an elective course on hunter s afety. 
B.  A hunter safety elective course offered pursuant to this 
section shall be: 
1.  Based on the hunter education program offered by the 
Department of Wildlife Conservation pursuant to Section 4 -112A of 
Title 29 of the Oklahoma Sta tutes; and

2.  Taught by an instructor who meets the qualifi cations 
required by the Department for a certified hunter education 
instructor. 
C.  The State Board of Education may coo rdinate with the 
Department of Wildlife Conservation to promulgate rules to implement 
the provisions of this section. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective Novembe r 1, 2022.
