111+BE IT ENACTED BY THE P EOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA :
112+SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 25 O.S. 2021, Section 82.1, i s
113+amended to read as follows:
114+Section 82.1 A. The designation and dates of holidays in
115+Oklahoma shall be as follows: Each Saturday, Sunday, New Year's Day
116+on the 1st day of January, Martin Luther King, Jr. 's Birthday on the

118+February, Memorial Day on the last Monday in May, Independence Day
119+on the 4th day of July, Labor Day on the firs t Monday in September,
93120 Veterans' Day on the 11th day of November, Thanksgiving Day on the
94121 fourth Thursday in November, the day after Thanksgiving Day,
95122 Christmas on the 25th day of December, the day before or afte r
96123 Christmas if Christmas is not on a Saturda y or Sunday, the Thursday
97-and Friday before Christmas if Christmas is on a Saturday, the
98-Monday and Tuesday a fter Christmas, if Christmas is on a Sunda y; and
99-if any of such holidays other th an Christmas fall on S aturday, the
100-preceding Friday shall be a holiday in that year and if any of such
101-holidays other than Christmas fall on Sunday, the succeeding Monday
102-shall be a holiday in that year.
103-B. The Governor shall issue an Executive Order each year
104-specifying the dates on which the holidays other than Saturdays and
105-Sundays designated in subsection A of this section occur. If the
106-President of the United States decl ares any day other than those
107-listed in subsection A of this section as a nationa l holiday, the
108-Governor may issue an Executive Order declaring such day a state
109-holiday.
110-C. Any act authorized, required, or permitted to be performed
111-on a holiday as designa ted in subsection A of this section may be
112-performed on the next succeeding busin ess day, and no liabil ity or
113-loss of rights of any kind shall result from such delay.
114-D. State employees, except for temporary and other limited term
115-employees, shall be enti tled to a day off work without loss of pay
116-on those holidays specified in an Exec utive Order issued by the

147200 pay, on an alternative date or pa yment in lieu thereof at the
148201 discretion of the appointing authority and in accordance with rules
149202 of the Director of the Office of Management and Enterp rise Services.
150203 E. For the purposes of this section, "holiday" means that
151204 agencies whose mission does not require them to be open for b usiness
152205 every day of the year shall be closed for official business.
153206 F. In addition to the holidays specified in subsection A of
154207 this section, state employees, except for temporary and other
155208 limited term employees, shall be entitled to one personal holida y
156209 each year which may be used on Good Friday , Juneteenth, Statehood
157-Day, Indigenous Peoples Day, Columbus Day, or the birthday of the
158-employee. If any of such holidays fall on Saturday, the preceding
159-Friday shall be a holiday in that year , and if any of such holidays
160-fall on Sunday, the succeeding Monday shall be a holiday in that
161-year.
