5352 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLA HOMA:
5453 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 567.12, is
5554 amended to read as follows:
5655 Section 567.12 A. To qualify in this state as an approved
5756 program for registered nurses, the program shall be conducted in the
5857 State of Oklahoma in an accredite d college or university leading to
5958 an associate, baccalaureate, or higher degree in nursing. Such
6059 programs shall meet the standards fixed by the Oklahoma Board of
6160 Nursing and prescribed in its rules.
6261 B. To qualify in the State of Oklahoma as an approved diploma
6362 program for registered nurses, or an LPN to Diploma RN ladder
6463 program for registered nurses, the program shall be conducted in the

9290 State of Oklahoma in a technology center approved by the Ok lahoma
9391 Department of Career and Technology Education , a nationally
9492 accredited college, or an accredited college or university and shall
9593 meet the standards fixed by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing as
9694 prescribed in its rules unless otherwise prescribed in the Oklahoma
9795 Nursing Practice Act. Length of approved diploma RN programs shall
9896 be:
9997 1. Standalone diploma programs for registered nurses shal l have
10098 a minimum of one thousand three hundred ( 1,300) clock hours, but not
10199 to exceed one thousand five hundred ( 1,500) clock hours, in nursing
102100 education. This shall include nursing education consisting of
103101 didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses. Additional required
104102 non-nursing coursework shall not exceed three hundred thirty ( 330)
105103 clock hours or twenty-one (21) credit hours;
106104 2. LPN to diploma RN ladder programs awarding credit to
107105 Licensed Practical Nurses shall have a minimum of six hundred (600)
108106 clock hours beyond the practical nursing education, but no t to
109107 exceed seven hundred (700) clock hours in nursing education. T his
110108 shall include nursing education c onsisting of didactic, laboratory,
111109 and clinical courses. Additional required non -nursing coursework
112110 shall not exceed three hundred thirty ( 330) clock hours or twenty-
113111 one (21) credit hours and may include non -nursing coursework
114112 completed in practical nurs ing education.

142139 C. To qualify in this state as an approved program for
143140 practical nurses, the pro gram shall be conducted in this state in a
144141 school or skill center approved by the Oklahoma Department of Career
145142 and Technology Education or licensed by the Okl ahoma Board of
146143 Private Vocational Sch ools. Such programs shall meet the standards
147144 fixed by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing as prescribed in its rules,
148145 which shall conform to the provisions of this subsection.
149146 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
