46	45		amending 59 O.S. 2021, Section 567.12, which relates
47	46		to registered nurse programs; adding program ; and
48	47		providing an effective date.

53	52		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLA HOMA:
54	53		SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 567.12, is
55	54		amended to read as follows:
56	55		Section 567.12 A. To qualify in this state as an approved
57	56		program for registered nurses, the program shall be conducted in the
58	57		State of Oklahoma in an accredite d college or university leading to
59	58		an associate, baccalaureate, or higher degree in nursing. Such
60	59		programs shall meet the standards fixed by the Oklahoma Board of
61	60		Nursing and prescribed in its rules.
62	61		B. To qualify in the State of Oklahoma as an approved diploma
63	62		program for registered nurses, or an LPN to Diploma RN ladder
64	63		program for registered nurses, the program shall be conducted in the

92	90		State of Oklahoma in a technology center approved by the Ok lahoma
93	91		Department of Career and Technology Education , a nationally
94	92		accredited college, or an accredited college or university and shall
95	93		meet the standards fixed by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing as
96	94		prescribed in its rules unless otherwise prescribed in the Oklahoma
97	95		Nursing Practice Act. Length of approved diploma RN programs shall
98	96		be:
99	97		1. Standalone diploma programs for registered nurses shal l have
100	98		a minimum of one thousand three hundred ( 1,300) clock hours, but not
101	99		to exceed one thousand five hundred ( 1,500) clock hours, in nursing
102	100		education. This shall include nursing education consisting of
103	101		didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses. Additional required
104	102		non-nursing coursework shall not exceed three hundred thirty ( 330)
105	103		clock hours or twenty-one (21) credit hours;
106	104		2. LPN to diploma RN ladder programs awarding credit to
107	105		Licensed Practical Nurses shall have a minimum of six hundred (600)
108	106		clock hours beyond the practical nursing education, but no t to
109	107		exceed seven hundred (700) clock hours in nursing education. T his
110	108		shall include nursing education c onsisting of didactic, laboratory,
111	109		and clinical courses. Additional required non -nursing coursework
112	110		shall not exceed three hundred thirty ( 330) clock hours or twenty-
113	111		one (21) credit hours and may include non -nursing coursework
114	112		completed in practical nurs ing education.

142	139		C. To qualify in this state as an approved program for
143	140		practical nurses, the pro gram shall be conducted in this state in a
144	141		school or skill center approved by the Oklahoma Department of Career
145	142		and Technology Education or licensed by the Okl ahoma Board of
146	143		Private Vocational Sch ools. Such programs shall meet the standards
147	144		fixed by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing as prescribed in its rules,
148	145		which shall conform to the provisions of this subsection.
149	146		SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
