SENATE BILL 1140 By: Matthews
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to the 1st Step Male Diversion
Program; making an appropriation; stating purpose;
providing an effective date; and dec laring an
emergency.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated to the 1st Step Male
Diversion Program from any monies not oth erwise appropriated from
the General Revenue Fund of the State Treasury for the fiscal year
ending June 30, 2023, the sum of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars
($250,000.00) for the purpose of keeping young men from prison by
helping them build better lives.
SECTION 2. This act shall beco me effective July 1, 2022.
SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, by rea son whereof this act shall take effect and
be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
