AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to the Oklahoma Personnel Act; 
allowing certain authorities to grant sick leave with 
pay under certain circumstances ; providing for 
codification; and declaring an emergency. 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 840-2.20D of Title 74, unless 
there is created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follows: 
A.  An appointing authority may grant COVID -19 sick leave with 
pay not to exceed fifteen (15) working days per state fiscal year to 
a state employee who is affected by COVID-19 or a variant thereof in 
Oklahoma if: 
1. The employee works in a health care or full-time custodial 
care facility operated by this state; 
2.  The employee is required to isolate or quarantine because 
the employee or a member of the employee 's household tests posi tive 
for COVID-19 or a variant thereof; or

3.  The employee has insufficient leave balan ces to continue in 
a paid leave status for the duration of the period of quarantine 
required by agency po licy. 
B. Leave granted under this section shall be in such amo unts 
necessary to supplement the use of the employee 's paid leave after 
depletion of all available leave balances in order to avoid a leave 
without pay status. 
SECTION 2.  It being immediately necessary for the preservation 
of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby 
declared to exist, b y reason whereof this act shall take effect and 
be in full force from and after its passage an d approval.
