6565 An Act relating to the practice of nursing; a mending
6666 59 O.S. 2021, Section 567.12 , which relates to

6868 broadening allowed inst itutions; updating statutory
6969 language; and declaring an emergency .

7373 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
7474 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 567.12, is
7575 amended to read as follows:
7676 Section 567.12. A. To qualify in this state as an approved
7777 program for registered nurses, the program shall be conducted in the
7878 State of Oklahoma this state in an:
7979 1. An accredited college or university leading to an associate,
8080 baccalaureate, or higher degree in nursing ; or
8181 2. A technology center school approved by the State Board of
8282 Career and Technology Education or a private school licensed by the
8383 Oklahoma Board of Private Vocational Schools leading to a diploma in
8484 nursing.
8585 Such programs shall meet the standards fixed by the Oklahoma
8686 Board of Nursing and prescribed in its rules.

138138 B. To qualify in this state as an a pproved program for
139139 practical nurses, the p rogram shall be conducted in this state in a
140140 technology center school or skill center approved by the Oklahoma
141141 Department State Board of Career and Technology Education or a
142142 private school licensed by the Oklahoma Board o f Private Vocational
143143 Schools. Such programs shall meet th e standards fixed by the
144144 Oklahoma Board of Nursing as prescribed in its rules, which shall
145145 conform to the provisions of this subsection.
146146 SECTION 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
147147 of the public peace, health or safety, an em ergency is hereby
148148 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
149149 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
