65	65	An Act relating to the practice of nursing; a mending
66	66	59 O.S. 2021, Section 567.12 , which relates to
67	67	programs for registered and practica l nurses;
68	68	broadening allowed inst itutions; updating statutory
69	69	language; and declaring an emergency .

73	73	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
74	74	SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2021, Section 567.12, is
75	75	amended to read as follows:
76	76	Section 567.12. A. To qualify in this state as an approved
77	77	program for registered nurses, the program shall be conducted in the
78	78	State of Oklahoma this state in an:
79	79	1. An accredited college or university leading to an associate,
80	80	baccalaureate, or higher degree in nursing ; or
81	81	2. A technology center school approved by the State Board of
82	82	Career and Technology Education or a private school licensed by the
83	83	Oklahoma Board of Private Vocational Schools leading to a diploma in
84	84	nursing.
85	85	Such programs shall meet the standards fixed by the Oklahoma
86	86	Board of Nursing and prescribed in its rules.

138	138	B. To qualify in this state as an a pproved program for
139	139	practical nurses, the p rogram shall be conducted in this state in a
140	140	technology center school or skill center approved by the Oklahoma
141	141	Department State Board of Career and Technology Education or a
142	142	private school licensed by the Oklahoma Board o f Private Vocational
143	143	Schools. Such programs shall meet th e standards fixed by the
144	144	Oklahoma Board of Nursing as prescribed in its rules, which shall
145	145	conform to the provisions of this subsection.
146	146	SECTION 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
147	147	of the public peace, health or safety, an em ergency is hereby
148	148	declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
149	149	be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
