SENATE BILL 1314 By: Garvin
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to the state Medicaid program ;
requiring Oklahoma Health Care Authorit y to provide
certain reimbursement subject to specified condition;
requiring provider to refer certain individuals for
appropriate services; directing promulgation of
rules; providing for codification; providing an
effective date; and declaring an emergenc y.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 5025.1 of Title 63, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
A. Subject to availability of funding, the Oklahoma Health Care
Authority shall reimburse providers under the state Medicaid program
for screening of children and adults for adverse childhood
experiences (ACEs).
B. If appropriate based on the ACE score, the provider shall
refer the individual for appropriate services which may include but
shall not be limited to counseling or other treatment.

C. 1. The Authority shall seek any federal approval nece ssary
to implement this section.
2. The Oklahoma Health Care Authority Board shall promulgate
rules to implement the provisions of this section.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2022.
SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preser vation
of the public peace, health or safety, an e mergency is hereby
declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
