2755 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

2956 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 19 O.S. 2021, Section 131.1, is
3057 amended to read as follows:

3258 Section 131.1. A. To file as a candidate for any county
3359 office, except as provided in subsection B of this section, a person
3460 must have been a registered voter and have maintained a current
3561 principal residence within the co unty for the six-month period
3662 immediately preceding the fir st day of the filing period prescribed
3763 by law.

4193 county commissioner district a nd have maintained a current principal
4294 residence within such district for the six -month period immediately
4395 preceding the first day of the filing period prescribed by la w.
4496 Except, however, to file as a candidate for the offi ce of county
4597 commissioner in 2022, a person must have been a registered voter

62107 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2 022.

64108 SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
65109 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
66110 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall t ake effect and
67111 be in full force from and after its passa ge and approval.
