27	57		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OK LAHOMA:

29	58		SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be co dified
30	59		in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 35 of Title 72, unless there is
31	60		created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follows:

33	61		A. There is hereby created in the State Treasu ry a fund for the
34	62		Oklahoma Department of Veterans Aff airs to be designated the “K-I-A
35	63		Reinterment Fund”. The fund balance shall not exceed Three Hundred
36	64		Thousand Dollars ($300,000.00) and shall consist of:

38	65		1. All monies apportioned or allocated to the fund pursuant to
39	66		law;

41	94		2. Any amounts appropriated by the Legislature to the fund; and

43	95		3. Gifts, grants, and other donations received for the fund .

45	96		B. All monies accruing to the credit of the fund are hereby
46	97		appropriated and may be budgeted and expended by the Department of
47		-

49	98		Veterans Affairs for the purposes of disinterring those who were
50	99		killed in action while in combat with a hostile force and
51	100		reinterment in a State Veterans Cemetery . Expenditures from the
52	101		fund shall be made upon warrants issued by the St ate Treasurer
53	102		against claims filed a s prescribed by law with the Director of the
54	103		Office of Management and Enterprise Services for approval and
55	104		payment.

57	105		C. The Director of the Department of Vetera ns Affairs shall
58	106		establish the application pr ocedure and the criteria for awarding
59	107		financial assistance.

61	108		D. All applications for reinter ment shall be approved b y the
62	109		Oklahoma Veterans Commission.

64	110		SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2022.

66	111		SECTION 3. It being immediat ely necessary for the preservation
67	112		of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
68	113		declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
69	114		be in full force from and after its passage and appro val.
