2757 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OK LAHOMA:

2958 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be co dified
3059 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 35 of Title 72, unless there is
3160 created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follows:

3361 A. There is hereby created in the State Treasu ry a fund for the
3462 Oklahoma Department of Veterans Aff airs to be designated the “K-I-A
3563 Reinterment Fund”. The fund balance shall not exceed Three Hundred
3664 Thousand Dollars ($300,000.00) and shall consist of:

3865 1. All monies apportioned or allocated to the fund pursuant to

4194 2. Any amounts appropriated by the Legislature to the fund; and

4395 3. Gifts, grants, and other donations received for the fund .

4596 B. All monies accruing to the credit of the fund are hereby
4697 appropriated and may be budgeted and expended by the Department of

4998 Veterans Affairs for the purposes of disinterring those who were
5099 killed in action while in combat with a hostile force and
51100 reinterment in a State Veterans Cemetery . Expenditures from the
52101 fund shall be made upon warrants issued by the St ate Treasurer
53102 against claims filed a s prescribed by law with the Director of the
54103 Office of Management and Enterprise Services for approval and
55104 payment.

57105 C. The Director of the Department of Vetera ns Affairs shall
58106 establish the application pr ocedure and the criteria for awarding
59107 financial assistance.

61108 D. All applications for reinter ment shall be approved b y the
62109 Oklahoma Veterans Commission.

64110 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2022.

66111 SECTION 3. It being immediat ely necessary for the preservation
67112 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
68113 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
69114 be in full force from and after its passage and appro val.
