AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to public buildings and public works; 
creating the Constitutional Herita ge and Legacy 
Display Act; providing for display of certain items 
in certain public buildings; requiring certain items 
and images to be donated or purchased with voluntary 
contributions; providing for noncodification; 
providing for codification; and provid ing an 
effective date. 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law not to be 
codified in the Oklahoma Statutes reads as follows: 
This act shall be known and cited as th e "Constitutional 
Heritage and Legacy Display Act ". 
SECTION 2.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 230 of Title 61, unless there is 
created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: 
A.  If funds under subsection C of this section ar e available, 
local school superintendents of the public schools in this state and 
the administrative officials of state agencies shall place a durable 
poster or framed image representing:

1.  The national motto of the United States, "In God We Trust"; 
2.  An accurate representation of the United States flag, which 
shall be centered under the national motto; 
3.  An accurate representation of the Oklahoma state flag; 
4.  The United States Declaration of Indepe ndence; 
5.  The United States Bill of Rights; and 
6.  The Constitution of the U nited States. 
B.  These items shall be displayed in each: 
1.  Public elementary and secondary school library and classroom 
in this state; and 
2.  Public building or facility in this state that is maintained 
or operated by state funds. 
C.  The items and ima ges authorized under this section shall 
either be donated or shall be purchased solely with funds made 
available through voluntary contributions to state agencies, local 
schools, or local school boards.  The items and images au thorized 
under this section m ay be displayed as they are donated or 
purchased. 
SECTION 3.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
