63 | 56 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: |

64 | 57 | | SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 70 O.S. 20 21, Section 9-101, is |
---|
65 | 58 | | amended to read as follows: |

66 | 59 | | Section 9-101. A. Any A school district may provide |
---|
67 | 60 | | transportation for any a child who is participating in any a |
---|
68 | 61 | | prekindergarten or early childhood program operated by the school |
---|
100 | 92 | | legal guardian of the student requests that the receiving district |

101 | 93 | | provide transportation for the student, and if the receiving |

102 | 94 | | district grants the transfer, then the receiving district may |
---|
103 | 95 | | provide such transportation only within the boundaries of the |

104 | 96 | | receiving school district. A re ceiving school district shall not |
---|
105 | 97 | | cross school district boundaries to transpor t a kindergarten through |
---|
106 | 98 | | eighth-grade student transferred pursuant to t he Education Open |
---|
107 | 99 | | Transfer Act except as otherwise authorized in Section 9 -105 of this |
---|
108 | 100 | | title. |

109 | 101 | | C. Any A school district may provide transportation for each |
---|
110 | 102 | | student who should attend any enrolled in a public elementary or |
---|
111 | 103 | | secondary school when, and only whe n, transportation is necessary |
---|
112 | 104 | | for accomplishment of one of the following purposes: |

113 | 105 | | 1. To provide adequate educational facilities and opportunities |
---|
114 | 106 | | which otherwise would not be available , which shall include those |
---|
115 | 107 | | purposes provided in the Education Open T ransfer Act; and |
---|
116 | 108 | | 2. To transport students whose homes are more than a reasonable |
---|
117 | 109 | | walking distance, as defi ned by regulations of the State Board of |
---|
118 | 110 | | Education, from the school attended by such student. Provided, that |
---|
119 | 111 | | no state funds shall be paid for the tr ansportation of a student |
---|
151 | 142 | | Section 3-141. A. Transportation shall be provided by the |
---|
152 | 143 | | charter school in accordance with Sections 9 -101 through 9-118 of |
---|
153 | 144 | | Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes and only within the transportation |

154 | 145 | | boundaries of the school district in which the c harter school is |

156 | 147 | | B. A charter school shall provide the parent or legal guardian |
