BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 6-101.33 of Title 70, unless there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: A. Each public school district shall conduct an exit interview with teachers who leave the district ’s employment due to dismissal, nonreemployment, resignation, or retirement. The exit interview shall include a standardized form created by the State Department of Education that includes but is not limited to : 1. The reason for leaving the school district’s employment including whether the individual is retiring, pursuing employment at another school district, or leaving the teaching profession; ENGR. S. B. Whether the teacher felt supported by school district administrators, the school district board of education , and/or parents and legal guardians of students enrolled in the di strict; and 3. Recommendations for impro ving the climate of the school district. B. Data collected pursuant to subsection A of this section shall be submitted in the aggregate to the State Department of Education, which shall use the data to inform decisions regarding professional development o ffered to teachers, and to the Office of Educational Quality and Accountability, which shall share the data with teacher education programs . SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2022. SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
