An Act relating to security guards and private 
investigators; amending 59 O.S. 2021 , Section 
1750.10A, which relates to armed security guard 
firearm training; authorizing security guards to 
carry long guns and handguns during the performanc e 
of their duties; and providing an effective date. 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAH OMA: 
SECTION 1.     AMENDATORY     59 O.S. 2021, Sect ion 1750.10A, is 
amended to read as follows: 
Section 1750.10A A.  An armed security guar d shall be 
authorized to carry any long gun or hand gun during the performance 
of his or her duties; provided, the armed security guard has met 
CLEET qualifications. 
B. The firearm training for armed security guards may include 
the reduction targets for weapons fired at fifty (50) feet to

simulate weapons fired at seventy-five (75) feet in indoor ranges.  
All indoor ranges for this traini ng shall have a minimum of three 
firing lanes and be approved by the Council on Law Enforcement 
Education and Training. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become ef fective November 1, 2022.
