AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to meat products; amending Section 1, 
Chapter 82, O.S.L. 2020 (2 O.S. Supp. 2020, Section 
6-182.1), which relates to standards for producers 
that market and sell beef and bison in intrastate 
commerce; removing condition; adding pork and poultry 
to certain products marketed in intrastate commerce; 
expanding rules for slaughter facility standards for 
certain products; and dec laring an emergency. 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     AMENDATORY     Section 1, Chapter 82, O.S.L. 2020 
(2 O.S. Supp. 2020, Section 6-182.1), is amended to read as follows: 
Section 6-182.1. A. Upon approval by the United States 
Department of Agriculture, the The Oklahoma Department of 
Agriculture, Food, and Forestry may establish standards for Oklah oma 
producers that market and sell beef and, bison, pork or poultry in 
intrastate commerce. 
B.  The Department is authorized to promulgate rules regarding 
slaughter facilities that provide for the following: 
1.  Establish standards that allow for flexibility in beef and, 
bison, pork and poultry inspection, including, but not limited to,

establishing the number of inspectors at a facility and the use of 
technologies to digitally inspect meat; 
2.  Establish standards for the labeling of beef and, bison, 
pork and poultry products sold intrastate; 
3.  Establish standards for the number of head over which a 
facility shall pay for a state inspector; and 
4.  Establish any other standards necessary to increase the 
ability of producers to market and sell beef and, bison, pork and 
poultry in intrastate commerce . 
C.  Any rules promulgated pursuant to this sectio n shall ensure 
that food safety will not be compromised in any way and will ensure 
that consumers are protected. 
SECTION 2.  It being immediately necessary for the pr eservation 
of the public peace, health or s afety, an emergency is hereby 
declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and 
be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
