105 | 105 | | B. Results, information and evidence received from the Oklahoma |
---|
106 | 106 | | State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control relating to |
---|
107 | 107 | | the regulatory functions of this act, including results of |
---|
108 | 108 | | inspections conducted by that agency, may be relied upon and acted |
---|
109 | 109 | | upon by the Director in conformance with the regulatory functions |
---|

111 | 111 | | C. The Director is further authorized and directed to: |

209 | 207 | | understanding and dealing with the misuse and abuse of |
---|

211 | 209 | | E. The Director shall prepare a yearly report on all deaths and |
---|
212 | 210 | | nonfatal overdoses which were the result or probable result of abuse |
---|
213 | 211 | | of a controlled danger ous substance. The yearly report shall be |
---|
214 | 212 | | limited to statistical information including, but not limited to, |
---|
215 | 213 | | the county where the death or nonfatal overdose occurred, age, race, |
---|
216 | 214 | | gender, type of controlled dang erous substances involved in the |
---|

251 | 248 | | G. The Director may enter into contracts for educational a nd |

252 | 249 | | research activities without performance bond s. |
---|
253 | 250 | | H. The Director may authorize persons engaged in research or |
---|
254 | 251 | | scientific activities on the use and effects of dangerous substances |
---|
255 | 252 | | to withhold the names and other identifying characteristics of |
---|
256 | 253 | | persons who are the subjects of such research. Persons who obtain |
---|
257 | 254 | | this authorization may not be compelled in any state civil, |
---|
258 | 255 | | criminal, administrative, legislative or other proceeding to |
---|
259 | 256 | | identify the subjects of research for which such authorization was |
---|
260 | 257 | | obtained. |
---|
261 | 258 | | I. The Director may authorize the lawful possessi on, |
---|
262 | 259 | | distribution and use of controlled dangerous substances by persons |
---|
263 | 260 | | engaged in research or scientific activities; authorization for |
---|
264 | 261 | | possession of controlled dangerous substances may be extended to |
---|
265 | 262 | | persons engaged in a program of drug education or person s in the |
---|
266 | 263 | | performance of an official duty. Persons who obtain this |
---|
267 | 264 | | authorization shall be exempt from state prosecution for possession, |

301 | 297 | | K. The Director is authorized to purchase or sell real |

302 | 298 | | property, together with appurtenances, in the name of the Oklahoma |

303 | 299 | | State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control upon approval |

304 | 300 | | of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs |

305 | 301 | | Control Commission. |

306 | 302 | | L. The Director is authorized to purchas e and maintain motor |
---|
307 | 303 | | vehicles and other equipment for use by the employees of the Bureau. |
---|
308 | 304 | | M. The Director shall be in charge of all monies appropriated |
---|
309 | 305 | | for or deposited to the credit of the office of the Dire ctor and is |
---|
310 | 306 | | authorized to approve claims and pa yrolls as provided in Section |
---|
311 | 307 | | 41.26 of Title 62 of the Oklahoma Statutes. |

312 | 308 | | N. The Director shall have the authority of a peace officer and |
---|
313 | 309 | | is authorized to commission assistants of the office as peace |
---|
314 | 310 | | officers. |

315 | 311 | | O. Upon determining that a practitioner is p rescribing a |
---|
316 | 312 | | controlled dangerous substance to a person engaged in fraudulent or |
---|
317 | 313 | | deceptive efforts to fill or refill multiple prescriptions for |

318 | 314 | | controlled dangerous substances, the Director shall provide writt en |
