4064 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A n ew section of law not to be
4165 codified in the Oklahoma Statutes reads as follows:

4366 A. There is hereby created until November 30, 202 4, the Veteran
4467 Suicide Prevention Task Force to study and make recommendations
4568 regarding the causes and prevention of suicides among veterans in

4897 B. The task force shall be comprised of nine (9) members to be

78117 C. Appointments to the task force shall be made within sixty
79118 (60) days after the effective date of this act. The appointing
80119 authorities shall coordinate their appointments to reflect the best

82148 appointing authorities shall appoint a veteran to serve on the task
83149 force.

85150 D. The task force shall conduct an organizational meeting not
86151 later than November 1, 2023. A chair and vice chair shall be
87152 selected to serve by the membership of the task force at the
88153 organizational meeting. The task force may meet as often as may be
89154 required to perform the duties imposed upon it.

91155 E. The task force shall organiz e and prioritize its objectives.
92156 The task force may coordinate, communicat e, and collaborate with
93157 state and federal agencies, nonprofit organizations, public and
94158 private health care entities, and state educational institutions
95159 regarding issues associate d with veteran suicide.

97160 F. A quorum of the task force shall be requ ired to approve any
98161 final action of the t ask force. For purposes of this section, five
99162 (5) members shall constitute a quorum.

101163 G. The meetings of the task force shall be subject to the
102164 Oklahoma Open Meeting Act.

104165 H. Members of the task force shall receive no compensation or
105166 travel reimbursement.

107167 I. The Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs and the House of
108168 Representatives shall provide staff and administrative support for
109169 the task force.

111170 J. The task force shall su bmit a report of its findings and
112171 recommendations no later than November 30, 2024, to the Speaker of
