HOUSE BILL 1885 By: Waldron
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to schools; amending 70 O.S. 2021,
Section 3-119, which relates to school nutrition;
creating the Healthy School Meals f or All Act;
requiring sufficient appropriation by the legislature
to provide meals at no cost to all children enrolled
in the school district; providing an effective date;
and declaring an emergency .
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 70 O.S. 2021, Section 3-119, is
amended to read as follows:
Section 3-119. A. This act shall be known and may be cited as
the "Healthy School Meals for All Act".
Funds B. Sufficient funds shall be appropriated by the
legislature to the State Board of Education for School Lunch
Matching and the National School Lunch Programs Program, and shall
be apportioned by the State Board of Education to each s chool
district for the purpose of providing meals for school breakfast and
lunch at no cost to all children in compliance with the National
School Lunch Act and the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 and Public Law

91-248, as they may hereafter be amended or supp lemented who are
enrolled in the school district .
SECTION 2. This act shall become effecti ve July 1, 2023.
SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and
be in full force from and aft er its passage and approval.
