298 | 308 | | costs of the analysis by a credenti al evaluation service. The Board |

299 | 309 | | shall accept teaching experience from primary and secondary schools |
---|
300 | 310 | | that are operated by the United States Department of Defense or are |
---|
301 | 311 | | affiliated with the United States Department of State. |
---|
302 | 312 | | D. For the purpose of state sa lary increments and retirement, |
---|
303 | 313 | | no teacher shall be granted credit for more than five (5) years of |
---|
304 | 314 | | active duty in the military service or out -of-state or out-of- |
---|
305 | 315 | | country teaching experience as a certified teacher or its |
---|
306 | 316 | | equivalent. Nothing in this section shall prohibit boards of |
---|
307 | 317 | | education from crediting more years of experience on district salary |
---|
308 | 318 | | schedules than those allowed for state purposes. |
---|
338 | 349 | | 1. Certified teacher who teaches in the educational program of |
---|
339 | 350 | | the Department of Corrections, beginning with fiscal year 1981; |
---|
340 | 351 | | 2. Vocational rehabilitation counselor under the Department of |
---|
341 | 352 | | Human Services if the counselor was empl oyed as a certified teacher |
---|
342 | 353 | | by the State Department of Education when the Division of Vocational |
---|
343 | 354 | | Rehabilitation was transferred from the State Board of Career and |
---|
344 | 355 | | Technology Education or the State Board of Education to the Oklahoma |
---|
345 | 356 | | Public Welfare Commissio n on July 1, 1968; |
---|
346 | 357 | | 3. Vocational rehabilitation counselor which were completed |
---|
347 | 358 | | while employed by the Department of Human Services if such counselor |
---|
348 | 359 | | was certified as a teacher or was eligible for certification as a |
---|
349 | 360 | | teacher in Oklahoma; |
---|
350 | 361 | | 4. Certified teache r which were completed while emplo yed by the |
---|
351 | 362 | | Child Study Center located at University Hospital, if the teacher |
---|
352 | 363 | | was certified as a teacher in Oklahoma; and |
---|
353 | 364 | | 5. Certified school psychologist or psychometrist which were |
---|
354 | 365 | | completed while employed as a doctoral intern, psychological |
---|
355 | 366 | | assistant, or psychologist with any agency of the State of Oklahoma |
---|
356 | 367 | | if the experience primarily involved work with persons of school - or |
---|
357 | 368 | | preschool-age and if the person was, at the time the experience was |
---|
386 | 398 | | F. The provisions of this section shall not apply to teachers |
---|
387 | 399 | | who have entered into postretirement employment with a public school |
---|
388 | 400 | | in Oklahoma and are still receiving a monthly retiremen t benefit. |
---|
389 | 401 | | G. If a person employe d as certified personnel, as defined in |
---|
390 | 402 | | Section 26-103 of this title, by a school district during the 2017 - |
---|
391 | 403 | | 2018 school year was receiving a salary above the step level |
---|
392 | 404 | | indicated by the State Minimum Salary Schedule state minimum salary |
---|
393 | 405 | | schedule for the 2017-2018 school year, the person shall receive a |
---|
394 | 406 | | salary increase amount equal to the amount indicated in subsection A |
---|
395 | 407 | | for the step level indicated for the person, provided they remain |
---|
396 | 408 | | employed by the same district, unless the hours or the duties of the |
---|
397 | 409 | | certified personnel are reduced proportionately. |
---|
398 | 410 | | SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023. |
---|
399 | 411 | | SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preserva tion |
---|
400 | 412 | | of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is her eby |
---|
401 | 413 | | declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and |
---|
402 | 414 | | be in full force from and after its passage and approval. |
