BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE O F THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1692.10 of Title 21, unless 
there is created a duplication in num bering, reads as follows: 
The majority of the voters of a county, voting at an election to 
be held for such purpose, may approve reducing violations of 
Sections 1692.2, 1692.3, 1692.4, and 1692.5 of Title 2 1 of the 
Oklahoma Statutes to misdemeanor offenses.  An election shall be 
called upon the filing of a petition with the county election board 
containing not less than five percent (5%) of the number of voters 
that voted in the most recent gubernatorial election in that county,

or by a simple majori ty vote of the county commissioners in that 
county. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
